Thousands of scientists publish a paper every five days
John P. A. Ioannidis, Richard Klavans and Kevin W. Boyack identified the most prolific scientists of recent years.
The number of hyperprolific authors (who publish a paper every 5 days) grew about 20-fold between 2001 and 2014. Over the same period, the total number of authors increased by 2.5-fold. The authors of this article identified them and asked them their opinions.
